The Canadian Nurses for Health and the Environment (CNHE)

Description: Working together for Environmental Health - The Canadian Nurses for Health and the Environment - Infirmieres et Infirmiers pour la Sante et l'Environnement (CNHE/IISE) represents passionate Registered Nurses from the west to the east coast of Canada dedicated to the improvement of environmental health across all domains of nursing practice, policy, research and education. An associate interest group of the Canadian Nurses Association, CNHE works to:

  • Facilitate knowledge sharing and transfer based on environmental health principles and nursing best practices;
  • Support evidence-based environmental health practice;
  • Influence policy development and legislation to support environmental nursing practice; and
  • Promote educational and research opportunities for nurses.

We have been advocating champions against asbestos production and use world-wide. We also share our knowledge to create awareness and action to ensure that the public knows the significant damage to health of asbestos production and use.
